Eat real food, mostly greens.

I adapted this from what Michael Pollan said, “Eat food, not too much, mostly plants.”

It really is this simple. If most people just follow this principle, they’ll see good results.

What is real food?

If it comes in a box or has a label, it’s not real food by our standards. Obviously it’s not fake food, but we want to distinguish food into two categories, real food and processed food.

Here are a couple of simple strategies based on your goal:

To lose body fat:

  • Eat higher quality food (real food not processed).
  • Ideally, cook.

To lose weight on the scale:

  • Eat fewer calories, in other words, portion control.
