How to Recover from Workouts Faster
Soreness, pain, and fatigue are all typical responses after a workout, but there are ways to limit these.
Even if you don’t experience these symptoms, recovery matters because results from your workouts happen during recovery. This is when both your body and your brain adapt to any stimulus you place on them.
A focus on recovery is also why we are seeing more and more elite athletes competing at a high level far beyond the average age for their sport (e.g., LeBron James, Tom Brady, Novak Djokovic).
Post-workout stress can be reduced with simple recovery tools, starting with the foam roller.
Anyone who trains with me knows I constantly preach the magic of the foam roller. I’ve been rolling out before and after every workout for the last 14 years. I’ve run every possible test I can think of, and the result is indisputable: foam rolling works.
