Agility Ladder Tips
A good way to learn a new ladder drill is to do the drill at a slow speed first. Once you master the movement pattern, try it at a medium speed and then at full speed.
Learn the steps slowly and properly before speeding through them. If the drill is complex, break it down into smaller steps. Master each step before putting the whole sequence together.
Fast is slow, and slow is fast. Don’t sacrifice your agility for your ego. You’re going to suck at new drills. Go slow and you’ll learn to be faster.
Count each step to create a rhythm (i.e., 1-2-3, 1-2-3).
Practice in private. If you are worried about what others think, have peer pressure, or feel embarrassed, practicing these drills with nobody around will eliminate these distractions. Try not to care what others think. You’re building a skill, and you should be proud for trying something new that others are scared to even attempt.
